The second day of the Northwest 9 started off a little bit on the colder side, as a 8am workout was greeted with a wet field.

A few days ago I released the 4A preview, today we take a look at the 3A classification. While the 4A level has about 5-6 teams that could make serious runs at a title, the 3A classification looks more cut and dry as to who the top two teams are.

Scott Eklund and I will begin rolling out our team previews in just a few days, so before we get started, I wanted to go around the state and take a quick look at the top teams and games for the upcoming season.

Next week 26 of the top QB’s in the region will ascend on Northwest University in Kirkland for the first annual Northwest 9.

For the second straight year, East Development in the Tri-Cities held a combine event, allowing athletes in the area to not only get accurate testing number, but exposure that is deeply craved in Southeast Washington.

One of the best off-seasons by any lineman in Washington is that of Sedro-Woolley’s Erik Lukner.
