Playing at Davis High School in Yakima, Washington, multi-dimensional athlete Eric Briscoe Jr. is basically off the typical beaten path for recruiters, but that hasn’t stopped him from hauling in seven offers and recently he took his first official visit.
“I visited Utah (on 10/10) and I had a great time,” Briscoe Jr. told Northwest Elite Index. “Sam Whittingham (head coach Kyle Whittingham’s nephew) was my host and he showed me a really good time there. I loved the feel of everything there.”
While he was on campus, Briscoe Jr. met with the coaches, but didn’t come away with an offer.
“They said they are still in the process of figuring (an offer) out,” Briscoe Jr. added.
Briscoe Jr. currently claims seven offers — Air Force, Syracuse, Colorado State, Yale, Cornell, Idaho and UNLV — and in addition to the heavy interest he has received from Utah, he’s also been talking quite a bit with Oregon.
“They haven’t offered yet, but I am taking an official visit there on November 21st when they play USC,” Briscoe Jr. said. “As far as other visits, I haven’t set any up yet, but I am planning to do that soon.
“All of the schools are recruiting me as a linebacker.”
So far this season, Briscoe has racked up over 80 tackles to go along with four sacks, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery while helping to lead the Pirates to a 5-2 record.
Davis takes on Eastmont this Friday on the road.
