Bethel (Spanaway, Wa.) OL Ezra Cleveland is turning out to be one of the fastest risers among 2016 prospects in the state of Washington with 11 offers to his name and he recently updated Northwest Elite Index on some summer plans he’s made.
Cleveland visited Boise State over the weekend and came away impressed with the school as well as the coaching staff.
“It was great,” Cleveland said after returning home. “I had a great time hanging out with coach (Scott) Huff and all of the staff and also meeting some of the players.
“Coach Huff seems like a terrific coach.”
Cleveland currently holds and offer from Boise State as well as Air Force, Eastern Washington, Hawaii, Montana, Montana State, Nevada, Oregon State, Portland State, Utah State and Washington State.
“I am hearing from a lot of schools right now,” Cleveland said. “Army, New Mexico, Idaho and Navy all dropped by, so did Arizona State and Oregon and Washington. It’s been busy.
“The Oregon offensive line coach (Steve Greatwood) likes me a lot and they are looking at me on offense and defense and Washington likes me along the defensive line.”
Cleveland said he plans to make it out to Washington’s Rising Stars camp which will take place on June 20th and he’s also planning to go to the Oregon NFTC camp on June 14th as well as the Oregon football camp on June 17th.”
With his 6’6”, 270-pound frame and surprising athleticism, Cleveland is an ideal candidate to play either offensive tackle or as a seven-technique/defensive end in a 3-4 scheme on defense.
Expect things to continue hum along for the junior-to-be from the south Puget Sound and for him to have several more options before the end of the summer.
