Breaking down Oregon’s line class for 2016 we see D1 kids up and down the board. It has the potential of being one of the top groups ever to come through the state. Check out this year’s Junior’s and who projects at the highest level.

Conner Crist 6-4 295 T Tigard– Crist was a standout on the BFA Camp and Combine Tour over the off season and will be ranked the #1 OL in Oregon for the 2016 class.. He was an all conference kid in 2013 and will help lead a top ranked Tigard team.

Derek McMurray 6-7 340 T Tigard – McMurray is massive and one of the fastest rising lineman in the region. He has the ability to track down and block LB’s and DB’s even with his given size. Expect both him and Crist to be high profile D1 kids.

Jacob Kizer 6-5 235 DE West Salem – Kizer was an all conference D end and will be one of the top dual threat kids in the Northwest, also excelling from his TE position. His 4.7 (40) yard dash will only help bolster his stock as he will most likely be the top ranked D lineman in the state.

Cam McCormick 6-5 225 DE/OLB Summit – The kid out of Central Oregon is freaky athletic and could be recruited as an outside backer. He earned all conference honors on both sides of the ball (TE/DE) also running a 11.35 100 meters. Current coach and NFL vet Neil Elshire calls him someone that could be special at the next level.

Anounson Keobounnam 6-3 280 DL/OL Centennial – Maybe the fastest rising lineman in the state. His upside is high on both sides of the football as he will dominate most 1 on 1 matchups. He earned all conference honors in 2013 and is an unquestioned D1 kid.

Osawaru Odighizuwa 6-3 255 DE David Douglas– One of the top wrestlers in the country and the brother of UCLA DE and former Oregon Player of the Year Owa. Osawaru earned 2nd team all conference honors at DE in 2013 and could very well follow in his brother’s footsteps as one of the top D lineman in the region.

Tony Kraus 6-3 230 DE Canby– Kraus earned 1st team all league honors as a sophomore and required a constant double team in the Cougars semifinal run. Tony comes from a football family and gets off the ball like a young Connor Humphreys (Arizona St/Central Catholic). He is the guy that every coach wants to have on their team.

Ben Godfrey 6-6 235 T/DE Forest Grove– Godfrey is a large and very athletic individual. Head Coach Jensen has nothing but good things to say about the big man. Expect him to be a lineman of the year candidate in the CVC over the next two seasons

Quinn Fitzpatrick 6-6 265 T Sunset– If the last name sounds familiar its for good reason as Fitzpatrick has D1 and NFL genes up and down the board. You can’t teach 6-6 and he is just coming into his own. Expect him to be one of the top lineman in the Metro.

Aaron Wagner 6-2 275 G Oregon City– Wagner was one of the TRL’s top young lineman in 2013. Expect him to be one of the elite O lineman in Oregon on an OC team that could contend for a state title over the next two years.

Markus John 6-2 290 G/DT West Salem– Another one of the fastest rising kids in Oregon as John possesses incredible strength. Markus was an Underclassmen MVP at the BFA Camp & Combine in Salem an will be ranked among the top interior lineman in Oregon.

Jason Sperle 6-2 285 C McNary– Sperle was an honorable mention all league kid in 2013 and could very well be the state’s top center. He is very athletic for a big man and will provide an improving Celtics team with the necessary foundation up front.

Makai Manuwai 6-2 245 DT/LB South Medford– Manuwai started as a freshman and earned 1st team all league honors as a sophomore from his D line spot. He could foreseeably play a linebacker position at the next level and has been absolutely dominant from a young age. Look for him to be a SWC Player of the Year candidate.

Tate Edmundson 6-2 285 C/G Sheldon– The future of the Irish line. Tate will be a three year starter coming from a very athletic family with D1 genes. He had a very impressive Sophomore season and will be called upon to lead up front this season.

Tobe Okafor 6-4 260 T Central Catholic– Okafor will be the youngster on a nationally ranked D1 CC line. He is very athletic for a big man and could be one of the breakout lineman of the year state wide.

Tommy Underwood 6-1 285 C Lake Oswego– Tommy has a big upside as the brother of D1 linebacker Nick Underwood now at Air Force. I can’t say enough good things about the Underwood kids on and off the field, as he will be one of the top lineman in the TRL.

Crafton Chamberlain 6-0 245 C Sandy– Crafton will be a 4 year varsity kid, earning all conference honors as sophomore. He isn’t the biggest kid but is fundamentally better than most as he will be one of the region’s top centers.

Massen Newton 6-0 265 NT Lakeridge- Newton is one of the top lineman in all of the Northwest. He will be a 4 year varsity athlete, having a monster sophomore year with 56 total tackles and 4 sacks. Look for him to be one of the elite Defensive players in the TRL.
