6A Top Ten
Barlow (2-5) 14 @ #1 Central Catholic (7-0) 65
Look for the Rams to pick up steam as the playoffs get closer. Cam Scarlett went for 181 and 3 Tds on 9 carries last week. The Bruins aren’t a bad team, but have been getting rolled.
Newberg (4-3) 10 #2 Tigard (7-0) 56
Newberg is getting better, but Tigard could very well win the state title. Look for Tigard to get up early once again, and spread the ball around with Manu being the primary ball carrier.
#3 Jesuit (5-2) 55 @ Aloha (2-5) 16
I don’t expect Joey Alfieri to get 40 carries this week as it wont be necessary. Look for him to run for a couple hundred yards and a few TD’s as the Crusaders should be done by half.
Thurston (1-6) 19 @ #4 Sheldon (5-2) 49
Thurston has had a tough go losing some close ball games, with last weeks 20 point loss to previously winless Crater not helping matters. The Irish aren’t last year’s squad, but they are good and should win convincingly.
Westview (5-2) 27 @ #5 Southridge (5-2) 29
This game is dangerous for Southridge as the Skyhawks need to figure things out quick if they want to have a chance in the playoffs. Westview is playing as well as anybody in the state, behind Jr QB Austin Brisbee and should challenge.
#10 Lakeridge (5-2) 26 @ #6 Lake Oswego (3-4) 30
This game is defining for both teams who are both playing well. Losing to Lakeridge is not OK for the Lakers, but Jr’s Eric Dungey (QB) and Lopeti Aisea are two of the state’s top players and could prove tough to stop.
#7 Oregon City (6-1) 29 @ #8 Clackamas (6-1) 31
Maybe the most competitive game of the night, between two top 10 schools. Clack’s senior class will need to regroup after last weeks debacle against LO, as O.C. is young but extremely talented. Senior Dan Sherrell and Sophomore Conner Mitchell will battle in what would be the best of the present and the future.
#9 North Medford (6-1) 30 @ South Medford (2-5) 28
Spiegelberg Stadium will be packed as this game will carry as much weight as any contest in the last decade. North Medford sits atop the SWC and there is nothing South would like more then to change that.

5A Top Ten
#1 Sherwood (7-0) 68 @ Sandy (6-1) 7
Usually a matchup of conference #1 and 2 would mean a close ball game. Lets just be real as this will most likely be done by half as Sherwood is just that good.
#2 West Albany (6-1) 48 @ Lebanon (2-5) 13
Lacoste went for 397 yards on 50 carries last week, so they could very well throw some other play makers in the mix. West Albany got a scare last week from Dallas last week, but this wont be one.
#3 Silverton (6-1) 32 @ #6 Crescent Valley (5-2) 17
One of the most competitive games state wide as CV will have a chance to gain some serious momentum with a win. Silverton will be tough to beat as Jr Cole Chandler is a player and Max Wilson has been dominant. OSU commit Tanner Sanders will have to be the difference maker if the Raiders want to win.
Willamette (2-5) 7 @ #4 Ashland (7-0) 58
The Grizzlies should be done by half and will have to prepare for the playoffs with some less then challenging games.
#5 Springfield (5-2) 34 @ #9 Marist (4-3) 21
Another one of the state’s top games as the roles are somewhat reversed. The Millers will be the favorite, although they haven’t beaten Marist in some time. Sophomore QB Trever Watson is the real deal and Coach Dave Heuberger will have his guys ready against friend, and one of the state’s all time great coaches in Frank Geske.
#7 Roosevelt (6-1) 45 @ Jefferson (4-3) 16
Roosevelt is playing as well as anyone state wide, but the challenge of course is getting ready for the playoffs while handling everyone with relative ease in the PIL.
8. Mountain View (5-2) 51 @ Redmond (1-6) 6
Look for the Cougars to blast Redmond as they are getting healthy. The Panthers lost everyone from a year ago and it will take some time to rebuild.
#10 Dallas (4-3) 38 vs Corvallis (3-4) 14
I think this Dragon team is dangerous, almost up ending #2 West Albany last week, but losing 14-7. Expect them to win by multiple scores this week.
