A kid that Taylor Barton calls the “most under recruited kid in the northwest at any position” Nic Sblendorio (6-0 190 Sr. WR/S) received his second D1-AA offer Thursday night from the Eagles of Eastern Washington University. The D1-AA power was the second Big Sky school to come in on Sblendorio after Northern Colorado had offered previously.
Nic’s a kid that we have gotten to know well over the last few seasons as he is not your prototypical WR, but runs circles around most DB’s. He is a game changer to say the least and has been a starter for the last three seasons. Through 9 games he was tied for the team lead in Td receptions with 8, while catching 44 passes for 740 yards.
Teammate Max Browne is the nation’s #1 QB and distributes the ball to about 8 different receivers, but Sblendorio is the best of the group. He is currently ranked our #2 WR state wide and he’s very happy about the offer, ” Coach Best the offensive coordinator has been recruiting me for the past 3 weeks, but Thursday night I received a call from Head Coach Baldwin and he offered”.
Nic will be weighing his options as additional offers come in but he says, ” Im really excited about this, because they have a good program and have been creating a tradition of winning in recent years…They expressed they like me as both a WR and a DB and we will have to figure it out”
Sblendorio traveled with us to Las Vegas last March as part of NEI-North for the National 7 on 7 tournament and absolutely killed it. We are big fans of him as a kid and a player, and we expect him to do big things at the college level. Barton says, ” If Nic ends up at a D1aa school he is going to be an All American, he is that good”. When all is said and done someone is going to get a steal with Sblendorio, and we will keep you updated as offers come in.
