One 2014 recruit from the state of Washington who has made an impression so far this summer is Renton OL/DL Micah Prescott. After playing mostly offense the past two years, he’s poised to have a breakout junior season this fall and he has some definite goals in mind…
"I want to start both ways and I want to get stronger and be the best lineman in my league and the state," Prescott told Northwest Elite Index recently. "I’ve been doing a lot of camps and working out a lot. I have gotten stronger and my speed and quickness are getting way better and I think I’ve got a chance to do pretty well."
Prescott has a great base and excellent lower-body strength. He showed an outstanding first step and he’s a very hard worker, something you can’t coach.
"I love playing ball and competing," Prescott said. "It’s just fun getting out there and going against guys who are really good and we have a lot of great talent up here in this state and in our region."
On the recruiting front, Prescott is a year away from really seeing things pick up but he has heard from most of the Ivy League schools including Princeton, Harvard and Dartmouth as well as Oregon State.
"I’m just looking forward to this season and really showing people what I can do," Prescott said. "In the end, my only real competition is with myself and I feel like if I do all the stuff I need to do, that I can reach my goals."
We’ll have more from Prescott this season as we keep an eye on his progress and we will update things as they happen with him.
