(Eric Rauch 6-2 220 Sr. LB- Issaquah 1st Team All KINGCO) |
Sometimes there are players who do the dirty work, but aren’t recognized for their efforts. One such player who brings his lunchpail to work seemingly every day is Issaquah LB Eric Rauch. The talented senior-to-be spoke with Northwest Elite Index recently about how his summer has progressed and also talked about some of his goals for this season…
"I’ve been out here working on a lot of things this offseason," Rauch told NEI. "A big thing I have been working on is getting into my drops faster and quicker and reacting quicker to the plays in front of me.
"I’d say my reads are probably what helps me the most. I see the run quickly and get to the hole fast."
Last season, while starting every game at middle linebacker for the Eagles, Rauch posted 98 tackles, five sacks and three interceptions earning Team Defensive MVP honors as well as First Team All-Kingco recognition.
As far as schools of interest, the 6’2", 217-pounder has been talking to a handful of schools, but has yet to receive his first offer.
"I’ve been talking to a couple of schools," Rauch said. "Mainly it’s been Eastern Washington, Wyoming, Humbolt State and some letters and stuff from Idaho.
"My goals this season are to improve enough to get to that next level. I’m pushing myself and the team with me to get us to playing better and being a top program.
"I’m all about the team though. I want us to be the best team we can be and I am hoping to help be a leader on the field. I expect that of myself."
We will continue to keep track of Rauch in the coming weeks and we will update news on him as it happens.
