(Brandon Williams 5-9 155 Jr Cascade Christian HS) |
A kid that turned heads every which way on Sunday was the speedy Brandon Williams (5-9 155 Jr. RB/Slot) of Cascade Christian High School in Medford. The junior small school standout ran the fastest 40 yard dash time of anyone in attendance (4.56) and looks like a player of the year candidate at the 3a level.
Williams accounted for a ridiculous 2,969 all purpose yards (1797 rush yds, 373 receiving yards, 688 Kick Return Yds, 114 Punt Return Yds) and 37 total Tds in 2011 and is a potential 400 meter state champion on the Track. He averaged 10.5 yds per carry and 24.9 yards per catch.
Brandon takes home overall Regional Camp MVP Honors after separating himself with an elusive performance from his RB spot. Evan Hisey showed speed and power and the ability to hit the hole hard and will be very effective at 6a North Medford. Williams isn’t a big kid, but is tough and projects as a slot back at the next level. He is one of those kids that can play 5 or 6 different positions helping to increase stock when talking college football.
Events like these are perfect for small school kids like Williams who know they can play with anybody. We wish to congratulate Brandon on his performance last Sunday and look forward to seeing him and some of the other Southern Oregon kids on the camp and combine tour over the next 3 months.
