Isaiah Brandt- Sims

One of the most explosive athletes in the state of Washington this past fall was sophomore Wenatchee RB/WR Isaiah Brandt-Sims. He has elite speed, showing off that aspect of his game when he posted a 6.96 60 meters in track last year as a freshman.
This year he hopes to be even better as he’s working on several areas to help him become more explosive.
“I’ve been doing a lot of speed drills and I’m trying to get stronger,” Brandt-Sims told Northwest Elite Index recently. “I want to be more explosive out of the backfield this year and better off the line of scrimmage when they have me in at wide receiver.
“This past year they started me off at wide recevier, but then moved me to running back. This fall I will be primarily at running back, but I’ll do a lot out of the slot too. We’re installing a whole new offense this year because we have so many sophomores who will be juniors next year and the coaches are fitting us all into the offense.
“It should be a fun year, but we have to get the new offense down and use all of our playmakers.”
One way for Brandt-Sims to improve has also been to attend all of the Barton Elite workouts taking place this winter.
“It’s great competition out here with all of these guys,” Brandt-Sims said halfway through Saturday’s 2.5 hour workout. “There’s some really talented guys out here so you have to bring it on every play.”
Since Brandt-Sims is a 2014 recruit, schools haven’t yet begun to send him any correspondence, but he said he plans on attending several camps this spring and summer.
“I’m for sure going to head to the Stanford camp the week after school gets out,” Brandt-Sims said. “I’m also looking at Oregon’s camp and then I will probably head to Washington State and maybe Washington’s camp. Honestly, I haven’t really mapped it all out yet, so I just have to see what happens.”
Brandt-Sims totaled 30 receptions for 450 yards and six touchdowns as a receiver while rushing for nearly 1,000 yards and 11 touchdowns as a tailback in Wentachee’s system.
