Dillon Miller , Mitch Carman & Tanner Zent Of Sheldon Commit; Earn Scholarships

Statistically one of the best players to ever play in Oregon, Dillon Miller (6-0 180 Sr QB), and his sidekick and step brother Mitch Carman (6-1 190 Sr) WR/DB both committed today to D2 Lindenwood University In St Charles, Missouri.

Miller was offered a full ride and Carman got half of his school paid for. It was an outstanding outcome to the record setting career of Miller who was voted 2010’s Southwest Conference Player of the Year and a first team all state QB by the Oregonian in 2011. Miller threw for almost 8000 yards over the last 2 seasons and 76 Tds. He lead his Irish team to two conference titles and a state championship appearance while posting a (24-2) record.

Carman was one of Oregon’s top receivers and earned all state honors on both sides of the ball. He was a key target that was called on time and time again hauling in 60+ receptions for over 900 yards and 8 Tds.

Dillon says, “Im really excited about going to Lindenwood, Mitch and I had a lot of fun on our visit out there and it just seemed like the perfect fit for us”. It was a special special class at Sheldon and we at NEI feel privileged to have been able to work with such an amazing group of kids. Miller added, ” I wanted to thank you and Taylor for everything you guys have done for me and my teammates, it was awesome to have NEI as our resource to keep track of all the teams throughout the year”.

While Miller and Carman are leaving town, Western Oregon was lucky to snatch up two time all league linebacker Tanner Zent (6-2 245 Sr). Zent accounted for 49 total tackles and a sack and has a huge upside. Zent says, ” Im very excited I committed to Western Oregon, its great when someone recognizes the dedication you put into something”.

As we have said time and time again you are not going to find a classier group of kids and these three individuals are an example of the product that Irish program produces. We will continue to update you on all of our top kids moving forward.
