One of the top tacklers in the state of Washington this past season was Inglemoor (Kenmore) LB Mikey Tupou who racked up an impressive 164 tackles (75 solo), one interception, two forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries while earning First Team All-Kingco 4A Crown Division and All-State recognition.
“I’m more of an all-around player, but I like stopping the run,” Tupou told Northwest Elite Index recently. “I love being physical and hitting people. I love contact and I have good instincts and that helps me a lot to make plays.”
With his outstanding size, instincts and strength, Tupou is already on the radar of several schools including Washington, Washington State, Oregon, Wyoming and some smaller schools.
“Right now it’s just a lot of letters and emails,” Tupou said. “It’s early and my cousin (Taniela Tupou) has already been through this so he’s been telling me about things and what to expect.”
Tupou said he plans to hit the camp and combine circuit this summer in order to compete against some other top players.
We will have more in the future as Tupou goes through the recruiting process.
