The ink was barely dry on our story about Kingston’s Sam Byers when he decided where he wants to play his college football for Air Force.
“I got the offer from Air Force last Friday night and I thought about it a lot over the weekend,” Byers told NEI Thursday night. “I decided I wanted to commit to them and I called them (Wednesday) night and told them I was committing.
“They were all excited and said they were happy to have me, and that they were excited for me to have ‘bolts’ on the sides of my head.”
Like all Air Force prospects, Byers will attend the Air Force Academy Prep School and then he’ll join his new team 10 months later.
“It’s all exciting and I’m really happy I get the chance to go there and play football ,” Byers said. “I’m just honored by the opportunity to go to such a great institution and their football program is really good too.”
