Oregon’s Top ranked Junior Lineman from West Linn Evan Voeller (6-5 285 Jr OL), got his 4th Major offer from Boise St the other day and the list looks like it will only grow. Voeller is ranked the #2 overall recruit from the State of Oregon on our Top 140 list for the class of 2013. He now holds offers from Washington, Purdue, UCLA, and Boise St.
Voeller has been busy working hard with one of the region’s top trainers (Mark McLaughlin) and says, ” I think that Boise State is a great school and it’s one of my top choices”. We are looking forward to seeing Evan compete this off season against the other top talent from around the Northwest. Voeller will be a 10 + offer guy, but you will never hear that from him as he is one of the most humble kids you are ever going to meet.
While BSU was in town they managed to throw a preferred walk on invitation to one of Oregon’s top talents in Zach Walen of Lake Oswego. Walen has accumulated 5 other offers (E.Washington, Portland St, San Diego, North Dakota, Dartmouth) thus far so he will be waying his options carefully.
On his official visit to Dartmouth we spoke with Walen in New Hampshire and he says ” the Boise St linebacker coach (Bob Gregory) met me in the office the other day at school with Coach Coury, and said that they had already had 3 backers commit but would like to offer me a preferred walk on”.
The offer is very appealing because Walen wants to play at the highest level he can, but at the same time free school is tough to pass up. We feel that Zach will either be a good Pac 12 type kid or a D1aa All American. His upside is through the roof, and as we have stated many times before his NFL Genes don’t hurt.
Boise State is now a national power and is doing good work in the Northwest making sure they cover all parts of the country. We will continue to follow Voeller and Walen and give you all of the breaking news first as your Northwest leader in High School football. Congrats to both athletes!
