In more breaking news coming to you first by NEI, West Salem’s Lochlin Deeks (6-4 255 Sr. DE/LB) has been offered a full ride scholarship by the 2010 D1aa National Champions from Eastern Washington. Deeks was just voted the Central Valley Conference Defensive Player of the Year finishing up a stellar career at West Salem that saw him earn first team all league honors three years in a row.
“I’m really excited, I have followed the program and really like the coaching staff so it was great news”, Deeks said. Lochlin has been offered by Air Force and Portland St and was listed as NEI’s #7 overall recruit for the 2012 class. He has been talking with Oregon St and Washington and wants to keep all his options open. We at Barton and NEI have worked with Lochlin over the last couple years and have seen him grow and become one of the top players in the Northwest.
“I will be meeting with Nick Holt (Washington) in a couple weeks when he comes to visit and Im really looking forward to what he has to say, Im just appreciative of the schools that have acknowledged me”. Washington has shown interest in Lochlin, but has yet to pull the trigger so it should be interesting. We wish Lochlin continued success and look forward to following his college career. NEI will continue to the be the leader in breaking news as we appreciate the overwhelming support. Congrats Lochlin we will be looking forward to decision day.
