In Breaking News reported late last night Daniel Halverson (6-2 232 Sr. LB/FB) made his intentions known committing to Portland St. “It felt right and I felt at home, it was time”, Halverson says.
Earlier in the day we had reported that Army had come through with an offer, and by that evening things had taken a different route. This is a big score for the Vikings keeping this local talent at home. Halverson was a first team all league linebacker as a junior and is considered the top candidate for Defensive Player of the Year in the PIL. He earned MVP honors among linebackers at the Stanford NFTC over the summer and had bigger schools courting him.
He will join current teammates and life long friends Paris Penn (6-0 185 Sr QB) and Jamarr Graves (6-4 190 Sr WR) who have already committed to PSU. It will be good to keep Daniel at home where his family can watch him play. We will now see his brother Nathan become the topic of recruiting discussions as he is a high profile kid himself. The Vikings just came up huge and congrats to the Daniel..All the hard work has paid off.
